On Friday, November 2nd, Mills hosted the annual Special Olympics. This year, it was a soccer tournament and students of all ages were able to participate, coming from cities both far and near. From elementary schoolchildren to students from adult transition schools, everyone had a great time playing soccer in the sun. The older and/or more experienced children played against each other on the lower field while the younger and/or less experienced children worked on building their soccer skills on the basketball courts through a variety of activities including “big ball soccer” and soccer-bowling. Student volunteers from Mills acted as the referees, the DJ/announcer, the scorekeepers, and the skill activity leaders.
