Spring break is a time for students to travel and relax before the final stretch of the year. The Bay Area has plenty of festivals, concerts, and shows for students to relax during this one week break. Some students will take this time to travel with family, de-stress at home, and some seniors will be getting a head start with senior trips as their last goodbye before graduating.

Locally, students can go to San Francisco and the rest of the Bay Area for spring break events. The biggest one being Japantown’s Cherry Blossom Festival on April 11th from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. This festival celebrates California’s Japanese-American culture with a parade and fair. Another one is, Hamilton at the Orpheum Theatre on April 4th and 11th. For those who have never heard of Hamilton, the musical centers around the American historical figure, Alexander Hamilton, and depicts the years shortly after our country’s foundation through a diverse cast. At Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors are playing against teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers on April 8th and Los Angeles Clippers on April 11th. Also at Chase Center, pop star Billie Eilish is performing on April 7th for her “Where Do We Go Tour”. In the same area, a museum based on Friends, the acclaimed 90s show, recently opened up displaying memorabilia and scenes from the iconic show. These are some of the biggest events happening during spring break and are definitely something Mills students should check out.

At Mills, students seem to be excited about spring break and finally getting time off. Senior Tim Ojie states, “All the sleep I missed I can finally catch up on and be prepared for the late-night studying during finals.” Senior Andrew Issa wants to spend time on hobbies; “I just picked up a new hobby, reading, and I want to develop it.” Some students want to spend time with their family before they graduate like Senior Zoe Foy; “I want to have a big family vacation before I leave for college.” It seems like Mills is ready for spring break and the chance to finally relax.
